Ruth McMahon Memorial Canine Care Fund
(“Ruth’s Fund”)
Ruth McMahon was a founding board member, Board Secretary, and a dedicated New Leash volunteer and foster. She was always involved in helping animals in need.
She rescued and adopted many dogs and cats saved from the streets of Pittsburgh, where she grew up, and in Philadelphia, where she spent her adulthood. As a result of Ruth’s dedication, her two children and husband, Jack, also became active in helping lost animals. Ruth never came across an animal that was too hurt, sick, or damaged to give up on.
New Leash is grateful for Ruth’s service to our community. Her leadership made an immeasurable impact on our organization and the hundreds of individuals and animals we serve. We are proud to honor her passion for at-risk animals like Rumple (below) through the creation of Ruth’s Fund.

Ruth’s Fund will provide whatever is needed for the at-risk dogs rescued by New Leash, especially those who need extra care.
Help us continue Ruth’s legacy of compassion and generosity toward those who need our help the most.
